Benefits on Death Accident
Passing away of a member: the union provides Birr 15,000 (Fifteen thousand Birr) for his/her legal heirs.
Funeral expense: the union provides Birr 2,000 (Two thousand Birr) for the employee`s funeral expense which will be deductible from the Birr 15,000 given to his/her heirs.
Passing away of a spouse: the union provides Birr 2,500 (Two thousand five hundred birr) when the employee`s registered spouse has been passed away.
Passing away of child of the employee: the union provides Birr 2,500 (Two thousand five hundred birr) when the employee`s registered Child has been passed away.
Passing away of parents of the employee: the union provides Birr 2,000 (Two thousand birr) when the employee`s registered parent has been passed away
Domestic Medical Treatment: The union provides Domestic Medical Treatment to its members when the employee`s Medical Treatment provision by the Airline ceases in accordance with collective agreement Chapter 10.4.8 c. Accordingly, when the employee`s monthly salary payment comes to 50% of his gross salary, the union covers the remaining 50% his/her salary after tax for a period of two consecutive months. Moreover, when the employee`s salary has been ceased without the termination of the employee`s contract, the union will cover the employees` full monthly salary after tax for a period of 2 consecutive months.
Overseas Medical Treatment: The union also provides Overseas Medical Treatment of birr 15,000 (Fifteen thousand Birr) to its members upon confirmation of the concerned Medical Board.
For an employee whose contract is terminated unfairly the union shall pay financial subsidy of 50% of his/her monthly gross salary regularly and handle the litigation in court proceedings by the union`s advocate.
Benefits granted to members with-drawing from the union
For Retired employees: the union provides a financial benefit of 80% of his/her contribution or 50% of his total contribution plus birr 3000 whichever is greater.
For employees who are withdrawing from the Airline legally: the union provides a financial benefit of 70% of his/her total contribution.
For employees joining Management members: the union provides a financial benefit of 70% of his/her total contribution.
When member of the Union faces physical disability based on the recommendations by the concerned medical board as to the percentage of disability, the union provides up to Birr 25,000.
Holiday Advances: Members of the union shall be entitled to receive loan and for Easter and Eid al Fitr Celebrations.
Discount services: Members of the union shall be entitled to receive discounted service of selected and essential commodities.
GENERAL MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS
To enable the internal recruitment fair, transparent and free from any biases.
When an employee gets suspended the union shall participate in hearing the case and ensures that the employee gets fair justice.
Grievance Handling Committee
To make sure that employees shall receive appropriate and satisfactory fines and related warnings and punishments only in accordance with the applicable Collective Agreement and the Labor Laws.
Provides Legal and Psycho – social counseling service to employees;
Ensures members participation in various social activities including sports, Donations etc.
Ensures that various trainings organized by the Airline are implemented in accordance with the applicable training policy and Collective agreement. It also ensures if employees are selected on a fairly just basis. Besides, the union shall enable Union leaders and its members at all level receive training on the Labor Union Leadership, Conflict resolution and Collective Agreement negotiation etc.
