ET Cargo Management – BTU Shop Stewards Consultation Meeting has been conducted.

Ethiopian Cargo Management, Delegates from Corporate HRM, Ethiopian Basic Trade Union (BTU) Executives and Cargo Shop Stewards held their monthly discussion on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 as part of HR Day meeting. The discussion was opened by Ato Fitsum Abady, MD Ethiopian Cargo Services followed by thorough discussion on various contemporary issues. Finally, agreement has been reached to work together to address outstanding issues.
A similar discussion was held between Ethiopian Cargo Management, the Division’s shop stewards and Ethiopian Basic Trade Union (BTU) executives in December 2016 as part of HR Day meeting. Major agenda items covered in the meeting include briefing on resolution status of employees’ current issues by Cargo HR Section and discussion on other major outstanding employees issues. Opening the meeting, Ato Fitsum Abady, MD Ethiopian Cargo Services, said “Such close collaboration with BTU shop stewards has been our customary practice here at Ethiopian Cargo and it will continue in a more strengthened way as we have been the beneficiaries from the collaboration”.
Ato Wondwossen Getaneh, BTU Chairperson, on his part appreciated the trend of conducting monthly joint meetings between the shop stewards and ET Cargo management, and reminded all participants to maintain this culture of working closely together, with a common goal and vision of the Company and industrial peace in mind.
